スター・トレック･ザ･ネクスト･ジェネレーションの”The Big Goodbye”を観ました。タイトルはレイモンド・チャンドラーの「長いお別れ（The Long Goodbye）」のもじりです。エンタープライズ号は昆虫型エイリアンのハラダとの会合の場に向かっています。彼らは気難しく、挨拶の言葉が少しでも間違っているとそれは彼らにとって侮辱となります。ピカード船長は緊張をほぐすため、船内のホロデッキに向かい、そこで1941年のアメリカ、探偵小説のディクソン･ヒルの世界を再現させ楽しみます。（ディクソン･ヒルはつまりフィリップ･マーロウです。）2度目にこの世界に行った時、ピカード船長は殺人犯として逮捕されます。そしてあるギャングに狙われます。この世界では撃たれてもそれは嘘事の筈でしたが、ピカード船長に付いてきた部下が撃たれて本当に死にそうになります。ピカード船長はすぐにその部下をシックベイに連れて行こうとしますが、出口が現れません。ハラダからの交信がエンタープライズ号のコンピューターに障害を発生させ、ピカード船長以下4名は架空の世界に閉じ込められます。結局例によってウェスリーがコンピューターを修理し、ピカード船長は戻ってハラダへの挨拶を無事にこなす、という話です。
しかしファーストのスター・トレックでも、似たような時代に行くという話が何話かありました。古き良き時代、ということなんでしょうね。

帰ってきたウルトラマン」の「怪獣島SOS」
「帰ってきたウルトラマン」の「怪獣島SOS」を観ました。郷隊員が明日休暇で次郎の誕生日を祝ってやる筈だったのを、隊長から急遽ニューヨークに飛ぶように命令されたのを、南隊員が気を利かして隊長に無断で郷に代わってニューヨークにモンスターソナーを取りに行きます。帰りに暴風雨に襲われある島に不時着します。そこにダンガーという怪獣が現れ、南隊員は不時着時の怪我から破傷風を発症し、血清を至急届けないと、ということで郷は修理中のマットアローを片道分の燃料だけで無理矢理救出に向かって…という話です。
ダンガーとウルトラマンの戦いで、ウルトラマンがダンガーの首の周りのソーセージみたいなのを引きちぎって取ってしまいますが、旧ウルトラマンがジラースの襟を引きちぎってゴジラにしてしまったのと同じでした。
しかし今回の件で、MATはマットアローを2台もダメにしている訳でいいのかいな、と思います。
トワイライト・ゾーンの”Person or Persons Unknown”
トワイライト・ゾーンの”Person or Persons Unknown”を観ました。デイヴィド･ガーニーはある朝1時間遅刻の時間に目を覚まし、自分がスーツを着たまままた靴も履いたまま寝ていたのに気が付きます。妻のウィルマを起すと彼女は悲鳴を上げ、あなたは誰と言います。いぶかりながら職場である銀行に行くと、自分の席には見知らぬ男が座っており、争いになります。結局ガードマンにつまみだされ、警察に手渡されて精神病院送りになります。精神科医は彼が自分をデイヴィド･ガーニーだと思い込んでいると言い、その証拠に知人に電話をかけさせて誰も彼を知らないのを確かめ、また電話帳にも彼の名前が無いのを確認させます。デイヴィッドは車を盗んで行きつけのバーに行きますが、バーテンも彼を知りません。デイヴィドは最近海へ旅行してそこで奥さんと写真を撮ったのを思い出し、写真屋にその写真をもらいに行きます。その写真で彼が奥さんと写っているのを確認し店を出ようとした所で精神科医に再び捕まります。そこで彼は写真を見せようとしますが、改めて見ると彼一人しか写っていませんでした…という所で目が覚め、今までのは悪夢だったということが分ります。しかしそこで妻の顔を見るとそれはまったく知らない女性で…という話です。まあ良くあるパターンの話かなと思います。
スター・トレック･ザ･ネクト･ジェネレーションの”Haven”
スター・トレック･ザ･ネクト･ジェネレーションの”Haven”を観ました。カウンセラーのディアナ･トロイが親同士が決めた見知らぬ男性との結婚でエンタープライズ号を離れるというかなり時代感のずれた話ですが、その相手の男性が子供の時から夢で見続けていた女性がいて、彼はそれがトロイだと思っていたのに違いました。そうこうしている内に、Havenと呼ばれる平和で病の人をも癒やしてしまうという天国のような星に、昔二つの部族が争って細菌兵器が使われて全員滅んだと思われていた星の生き残りの宇宙船がHavenに向かおうとしており、エンタープライズ号はHavenから防御を依頼されます。そのHavenの宇宙船にはトロイの許嫁の男性が以前から夢を見続けていた女性が乗っており、ワイアットという許嫁（医師）はその宇宙船に転送して人々を救おうとする、という話です。それでトロイの唐突な結婚話が出た後で、実はライカーとトロイが恋仲でした、みたいな話があります。全体的には陳腐さばかりを感じました。

As you know, all four TV works of Arwin Allen in the 1960s are lacking well-suited final episodes. The four TV dramas were, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, Time Tunnel, and Land of the Giants.
I, with the big help of ChatGPT, tried to generate “real” final episodes for these four dramas. The ones for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Lost in Space were not successful, but the two others seem to be excellent stories compared to the real final episodes of two. Let me introduce at first the real final episode for Time Tunnel:

「帰ってきたウルトラマン」の「怪獣時限爆弾」
「帰ってきたウルトラマン」の「怪獣時限爆弾」を観ました。ゴーストロンという怪獣が登場しますが、MATは最初から最後までこの怪獣のことを馬鹿にして過小評価しており、それが原因で大変なことになります。前回の話で他の隊員を救ってようやくMATに溶け込んだと思った郷隊員ですが、今回はある新型の爆弾を怪獣に向けて発射したのに、即時爆発信管ではなく時限信管を付けて発射してしまうという大きなミスをしてしまいます。爆弾は10時間後にならないと爆発しません。そのまま怪獣が動かなければ問題ありませんが、怪獣は都心に向けて動き始めます。そのために避難命令が出ますが、結局怪獣は途中で向きを変え、ダイナマイト工場に向かいます。MATで対策会議が開かれ、麻酔弾を使って怪獣を眠らせその間に爆弾の信管を抜くというのが採用されます。しかし郷は音による誘導を主張し、隊長から理由を聴かれて「何となく」で答えて却下されています。しかしここでまたも郷は独断専行でMATのジープに音響装置を付けて怪獣をダイナマイト工場から引き離そうとします。それはほぼ成功しかけていましたが、ダイナマイト工場がまたサイレンを鳴らしたため、怪獣は工場に引き返します。もし郷隊員が怪獣が音に誘導されるということを良く隊長他に説明していればこういうことにはならなかった筈です。結局ウルトラマンが怪獣を抱えて宇宙に飛ばして処分しますが、何だかなあ、と思うのは私だけ？

トワイライト・ゾーンの”Little Girl Lost”を観ました。クリスとルースの5歳の娘ティナがある夜泣いて母親を呼びます。父のクリスがティナのベッドまで行ってみると、声はするのにティナの姿がどこにも見えず、ベッドの脇にもベッドの下にも見つかりません。クリスが妻のルースを呼びますが彼女もティナの姿を発見出来ません。クリスは知り合いの物理学者のビルに電話して助けを求めます。そうしている内に犬のマックもティナの姿を求めてベッドの下に駆け込み姿を消し、鳴き声だけが聞こえるようになります。ビルは到着するとティナのベッドの周りを調べ、壁に彼の手が吸い込まれる場所があるのを発見します。ビルは何らかの理由で4次元と3次元がつながり、壁にその入り口が形成されたのだろうと説明します。彼らはティナとマックに呼びかけ、マックがティナを連れてくるよう誘導します。そしてクリスが壁の入り口に手を突っ込みティナを救いだそうとしますが、彼自身もその中に落ちてしまいます。クリスはティナとマックを大声で呼び何とか捕まえることが出来ます。その瞬間ビルがクリスを引っ張り出したので、全員無事に戻ることが出来ました。ビルによれば彼はずっとクリスをつかんでおり、クリスの半分は3次元、残りが4次元にいたのだと言い、もう少し遅ければ入り口は閉ざされビルのもう半分は永久に4次元に残されただろうと言います。
うーん、4次元の話は良くあるネタで、もう少し捻りが欲しいように思います。

「帰ってきたウルトラマン」の「怪獣レインボー作戦」を観ました。カメレオンみたいに保護色で姿を消す怪獣ゴルバゴスが登場。次郎が郷とアキを撮った写真のバックに怪獣が写っていたのでMATに調査を依頼しますが、岸田隊員はトリック写真だろうと信用しません。郷だけが残って調査していて夜になって目だけのゴルバゴスが登場します。それで姿を消す怪獣対策としてMATが取ったのが7色の塗料を吹き付けるレインボー作戦です。ってそれウルトラセブンの第一話でウルトラ警備隊がクール星人の円盤にやったのと同じ…
このゴルバゴスのシルエット、何だかウルトラマンのオープニングの影絵で出てくる怪獣に似ているような気がします。岩を投げつける攻撃はレッドキング的でもあります。ただ火炎弾の発射はウルトラマンにあっさり防がれます。
今回は他のMAT隊員と対立することも多かった郷が、他の隊員の危機を救った結果となり、ようやくMATに溶け込みます。

スター・トレック･ザ･ネクスト･ジェネレーションの”Hide and Q”を観ました。第1話で登場した連邦の人よりはるかに進んだ知力を持つエイリアンのQが再登場。今回はピカード船長ではなくライカーに目を付け、ライカーにQと同等の能力を与えます。その目的は、Qは連邦の人々を現在は彼らより劣っているけれども、数世紀後には彼らを追い越す可能性があると恐れており、ライカーを彼らの仲間にしてその潜在能力を調べるということでした。ライカーはその力を使わないことをピカードに誓います。エンタープライズ号はある植民星の事故で被害を受けた人を救出に来ていましたが、その星で生き埋めになって死んだ女の子が見つかります。ライカーの今の力ではその子を生き返らせるのは容易でしたが、ライカーはピカードとの約束を守ります。Qはエンタープライズ号の中に現れ、ライカーに自分の友のために贈り物をしてはどうかとそそのかします。それでウェスリーは10歳大人になります。またウォーフはクリンゴン人女性を与えられ、ラフォージュは普通の視力を得ます。しかし3人ともその贈り物はいらないと言います。ある意味悪魔のように、人に神のような力を与えて誘惑しようとしたQですが、その任務に失敗し、彼はその仲間によって処罰されます。うーん、このQというリピートキャラクター、今一つ好きになれず面白いとも思えません。
